Huon Hooke & Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2005/06
Geoff Weaver’s Lenswood Rieslings are outstanding examples of regional style.
Not only does Geoff make wine, he also paints pictures. The lovely pastoral landscape that graces these elegant labels is one of his. Geoff Weaver Riesling at its zesty best. Lime juice, green apple, slate and steel mark the nose, giving a fresh spring-like impression. In the mouth it’s clean and dry with great purity of varietal flavour, serious depth and length, and some mierally austerity on the finish. It’s attractive now with great balance and intensity, but really it needs time to evolve and show its best.
Serve it with Thai grilled chicken salad.
